She
couldn’t take it anymore and started pushing me to get free from my grasp.
“Stop! I hate you, Damien! Do you hear me? I fucking hate you!” she yelled over
and over again, aching to make herself and me believe it.
My heart
broke.
My fingers
twitched.
And tears
threatened to surface.
However, I
wouldn’t let up and just kept caressing her, kissing her, whispering that I
loved her. Battling her hateful words with my loving ones. I could feel she was
reaching her breaking point, as much as she could. Her wrist suddenly slipped
through my grip and she shoved me with so much force that she was able to slap
me across the face. Going full speed to do it again, but I intervened by
grabbing her forearm, pinning her to the blanket. Locking down her petite frame
with my flawed heart and beaten body.
She laid
there beneath me, panting profusely, emotionally and physically consumed with
tears cascading down the sides of her face. For a moment, I allowed her to take
my breath away. In my eyes, she’d never looked so fucking beautiful.
So goddamn
breathtaking.
So fucking
mine…
I leaned
forward and kissed away all her tears, tasting her nightmares, her memories,
her love and hatred for me. Tenderly kissing my way to her lips while her body
continued to shudder from my intense, overpowering love. Overwhelming her
emotions and overriding her thoughts the way only I could ever do. Before
another second slipped by, I kissed her for all the years I didn’t, for all the
times I couldn’t, for all the moments I so desperately wanted to. Losing myself
in her. Almost like I was trying to kiss the agony and pain I caused right out
of her. Wanting to hold her tormented burdens, inflicted solely by my mistakes
and regrets.

El Pecador picks up where El Santo finished (so you need to read that book first) and the angst starts building from the first page, with the action quick to follow. I lost count of how many times my jaw hit the ground because of the crazy and unexpected twists M Robinson threw my way. She had me reeling on more than one occasion.
I finished El Santo with a lot of mixed feelings about Damien but in true M Robinson style, she had me falling back in love with him within the first few pages of El Pecador. This is the perfect conclusion to Damien’s story as far as I’m concerned and as much as my feelings about him swung back and forth multiple times throughout the book, he’s without a doubt one of my all time favourite characters. I truly love to hate him and hate to love him. I didn’t know if I wanted to kill him or kiss him most of the time.
Amira is my new girlie crush. She turned out to be everything I hoped and so much more. She’s an amazing character that I absolutely loved. I had no idea how much her character was going to grow and change from the start of El Santo to the end of El Pecador and she couldn’t have been any more perfect.
Full of twists and unpredictable turns this book definitely kept me guessing what was going to happen next. M Robinson has always been my queen of angst and this book further cements that. As usual with this authors books the emotions come thick and fast. I went from hatred to head over heels in love and back to complete hatred all within a few pages. I got so mad I had tears in my eyes and I had to put my kindle down and have a breather. El Pecador is a whirlwind from start to finish, from the emotions to the action, it’s literally non stop, hit after hit and I couldn’t get enough of it. I highly recommend this duet. It’s got everything a book should have.
