  Excerpt: Maddox's face darkened. He stepped closer, crowding into my space and pushing me back against the wall. "Maddox-" I started but he cut me off with a low snarl, his chest vibrating with the cruel sound. My chest cracked, open wide and the fissures of my broken heart scattered on the ground at our feet. His eyes blazed with rage and... raw pain. "I'm self destructing every time I look at you, every time my eyes seek you out when we're in the same room. You make destruction and melancholia taste like sweet, sweet fucking poison." His hands came up and he caged me against the wall. His minty breath whispered across my lips, a tempting touch but our lips didn't meet. His mouth curled on the side, a sardonic smile. "It hurts because you're not mine. It hurts because we could have been good together but you decided to give up on us." His voice was rough and stiff as he spoke, his words slicing through the air and through me like a sharp sword. He left me bleeding on the spot and his eyes told me he didn't care. "So spare me the speech, get the fuck out." My heart lurched and bled, the organ so fragile it couldn't bear the assault of his words. His dark gaze went to my throat and we both stopped breathing for a mere second. There was an unreadable expression on his face. A flash of pain echoed in his eyes before it was gone. I whimpered as he curled a finger around my necklace. Our dreamcatcher. Snap. My eyes widened and I choked back a gasp. A single tear slid down my cheek as he snapped the necklace away from my neck, holding it up between us. "I'll be taking this back," Maddox said, his voice raw and sharp, laced with enough heartbreak that my knees weakened and I slid to the ground. He... took... my necklace. Snatched it right from my neck...and... My lungs seized and a wounded sob broke through my throat. Holding our dreamcatcher in the palm of his hand, he walked away.

This is the first time I’ve read this author and I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t this.

Maddox and Lila are best friends. But they have a weird friendship. I’m going to be 100% honest, I HATED Maddox at the beginning. Straight up hated him....and then he started to slowly win me over. Lila is sassy enough to give Maddox as good as he gives, she’s not one to back down and I liked that about her.

The mutual attraction and chemistry that they’re both trying to ignore, their messed up friendship, the banter, it’s all done really well and I’m fully invested in their story. I can’t wait for the second book in this duet to get some answers.

I have to say for me this is one of the best mafia books series that I ever read that. They just get better and better with each book if that is possible.

This is part three of The Mafia and His Angel this is not a standalone and you must read the first two books in the series to understand what is going on and who these characters are.

These books have been such a roller coaster of emotions while reading and this one was no different the author pulls out all the stops for the conclusion to ALESSIO & AYLA'S story. Love the characters, the story everything about it. 

This book starts from where the last book left us and what a read it is I devoured this book I could not put it down once I started. It has it all the writing is brilliant the story is perfect. I really cannot wait to see what the author has for us next in this series... we get a little tease at the back of this book and it already has me wanting more.

I loved the story it is captivating, once I started I read in one sitting I just loved it so much.

Ayla and Alessio were two broken people that happen to find one another after Alya escapes her life that is all I will say as to not spoil it for others...It has drama and Ansty in parts I was getting annoyed at times but I do love a book that brings these feelings out in me.

This is definitely a roller coaster of a ride it. I can’t wait for Book 2 and to see what is going to happen when Alessio finds out who Ayla really is and what is going to happen cause. People are going be hurt and feel betrayed but we know it isn’t like that. 

Love the characters, Alessio is a ruthless killer and he is out to kill every member of Abandonato mafia. But we see a gentle side to him too when it comes to Ayla... (sometimes).

Ayla is such a lovely character she hasn’t had the best of lives so she runs away from her family. Only to run into the arms of someone that wants all her family dead. 

So many secrets and Lies which leave's me with questions I am sure will be answered as the series goes along. This story is really good it is dark and gritty.

This is my first book by this Author and I loved it. I loved the style of writing it just draw me in from the start. Bring on book 2

Just when I was about to put it on, a deep rough voice came from behind me.

“I have to say, you have a lovely body.”

I shrieked loudly and swiveled around toward the voice. I tried to focus on the intruder but he was effortlessly hidden in the darkness.

I didn’t have to see him to know who it was.

I knew that voice. My body knew that voice.

Alessio.

I took a step back in fear, my nightshirt pressed against my body, hiding my nakedness from his eyes. Shaking from head to toe, I swallowed hard and my stomach started to cramp in fear— maybe in anticipation too.

Suddenly, the lights were on. I had to blink a few times to adjust my eyes.

Alessio was sitting in my sofa chair, leaning back comfortably. His left ankle was crossed on top of his right knee and there was a small remote in his hand, which he probably used to turn on the lights.

He wasn’t wearing a suit. But he did have his black slacks on and a black linen shirt, which was unbuttoned at the top, to reveal some of his chest.

His hard, muscular chest. I forced away the thought. 

Keeping my eyes on him, I saw his gaze intensely focused on my body. There was no embarrassment. No awkwardness. Alessio was completely calm and confident as his eyes raked over my body.

“Hmm,” he muttered, looking thoughtful as he watched me.

He leaned back against the sofa. His muscles were clear beneath his shirt, making him look big.

I forced myself not to fidget, but it was hard. I couldn’t show fear. Men like him fed on fear. They used it to their advantage.

My fingers tightened around my shirt. My throat felt heavy and dry. When I started to feel lightheaded, I realized I’d been holding my breath for too long.

I let it out in a loud whoosh and then sucked in a deep breath again. But, it was pointless.

His heated gaze traveled all the way down my body. I was speechless and frozen where I stood. When my body started to warm up under his focus, I closed my eyes tightly. But the tingling didn’t stop.
