Release Blitz & Review...Wild, Steamy Hook-Up by Piper Rayne

He’s the quiet brooding guy who’s owned my heart since I was sixteen but has refused to claim it.
I’m the naïve woman who believes that someday our time will come.
I just didn’t realize that someday would include waking up in Vegas with a raging hangover and a ring on my finger.
If we believed in fate, maybe one of us would’ve trusted that something more powerful than ourselves interceded because our love is one of tangled vines. As twisted and frayed as they’ve become over the years, they’ve never broken.
An annulment seemed like the easy way out. We should’ve known it wouldn’t be fate that intervened, but our Italian Mamas. They can deliver Oscar-worthy performances when heaping on the guilt.

But nothing is easy when it comes to Dominic Mancini and me. Nothing. to pretend to be a happily married couple in front of our families for three months and then say we gave it our best shot and go our separate ways.

Piper Rayne, or Piper and Rayne, whichever you prefer because we’re not one author, we’re two. Yep, you get two USA Today Bestselling authors for the price of one. Our goal is to bring you romance stories that have "Heartwarming Humor With a Side of Sizzle" (okay...you caught us, that's our tagline). A little about us... We both have kindle’s full of one-clickable books. We're both married to husbands who drive us to drink. We're both chauffeurs to our kids. Most of all, we love hot heroes and quirky heroines that make us laugh, and we hope you do, too.

Hosted By:

The last single Mancini man is no longer single! The last thing Dom was expecting to do when in Vegas was to end up married but that’s exactly what happens. Waking up wearing a wedding ring and with his new wife in bed next to him is a surprise to say the least but Don has a plan. Annulment. Unfortunately for the newly married couple their parents have other ideas and they really have no choice but to go along with their parents plan.

I love this kind of story line so I was super excited to start this and it didn’t disappoint. These characters already share a past, they are really easy to like and I have to admit I was firmly on their parents side. This is another great book from these authors that’s impossible to put down and I can’t wait for more from them.

"From beginning to end this story was simply superb. I cannot count how many times I yelled, threatened to punch a character, cried tears of sorrow and joy, was completely wordless or just sighed out of utter contentment." - Reading Is Our Satisfaction

I’m not quite sure where to start with this review. The first part concentrates on Zara and Fury’s relationship. Zara is 18, the presidents daughter and completely off limits. Fury is loyal to his president and his club and he’s determined to keep Zara at arms length. Zara was a surprise for me. She wasn’t what I was expecting. She’s only 18 but she’s dealing with some stuff and it’s making her grow up fast. When her dad hears she could be in danger he sends Fury to keep an eye on her to make sure she’s safe, throwing the two of them together. What starts off as just chemistry turns into more. As they develop a friendship Fury gets to know the real Zara and really likes what he sees. I loved watching their relationship progress and develop as Fury tried his best to help Zara and their mutual attraction turned into something more. Then we have the second part which seemed to focus more on the club side of things. Four years later and the club is still trying to eliminate its enemies. Zara has matured and healed (her character development was fantastic) and Fury once again finds himself drawn to her. This time around though he’s not going to be stopped from getting what he wants. That is until his president finds out what’s been going on, and feeling betrayed sends Fury away on club business, leaving Fury trying to mend friendships and relationships while trying to end the threats towards his club.

I really enjoyed this book but I wasn’t crazy about way the focus of the story left Zara and Fury and concentrated more on the club side of things in the second part. I’m not complaining because I love all things club related and it did all tie in with what had been happening but I guess I’m just a little greedy and wanted more from Fury and Zara. Overall this is a great book. If you’ve read other books by this author than you’ll probably love this one too.

ThatForeverGirl_FBpage-comingsoonbanner That Forever Girl Excerpt
There is no way in hell she’s here.
My family isn’t that cruel. Right?
From my car, I try to gauge the number of bodies in my parents’ house through the windows. Ugh, I can’t see shit.
She can’t possibly be at family dinner. My family loves Harper, but they wouldn’t invite her, not after I called my mom the other day, telling her to put her matchmaking skills to rest. She just chuckled but reassured me she knew what she was doing. Whatever the hell that means.
I was very adamant about leaving Harper alone. The Knightlys can be too much at times, and I’m sure we’re the last thing she needs right when she’s trying to settle back into town.
Resigning myself to the inevitable, I retrieve my keys from the ignition and make my way to the front door. Hand on the doorknob, I take a deep breath and walk into the house I grew up in. The warm walls and carefully hung family pictures greet me first, followed by my family’s raucous laughter emanating from the back of the house.
I remove my shoes and hang my suit jacket on the coat hanger by the front door before cautiously making my way down the long hallway to the connected kitchen and large dining room. Ren, Griffin’s girlfriend, is the first to spot me. She gives me a small smile and a little wave. The rest of the family is scattered around the kitchen as usual, getting in my parents’ way as they try to finish up the dinner prep.
Griffin sees me next. “Ah, you finally decided to join us.” He checks his watch. “I think that was eight minutes in the car. Who had eight minutes?”
Reid raises his hand and hops off the counter, grabbing a bowl from the center of the table and pocketing the wad of cash inside. “I know him too well.” Reid pats me on the back and slips me a one-dollar bill. “Here, this is for you. Thanks for taking eight minutes to prepare yourself to come in the house. Daddy is going to buy a new pair of jeans.” He pats his pockets.
Ignoring everyone and their stupid bet, I pop the fridge door open and grab a water. Reid joins me, sticking his head in the fridge so I’m forced to look at him. “Aren’t you going to ask?”
“Ask what?” I grit out.
“If she’s here. I know that’s why you were hanging out in your car, debating if you should come in or not.”
My skin prickles, and I brace myself for the answer as I shut the fridge door. “Is she here?” I hiss.
Slowly, Reid smiles and nods. “Yup, she’s in the bathroom.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” I angrily squeeze my water bottle, nearly popping the top off. “Why? Why is she here?”
Reid shrugs. “I don’t know, maybe because she wants to be here.”
“Who invited her? Was it Mom?” I don’t wait for an answer. Instead, I walk over to the culprit, who’s hovering over the stove, stirring a huge pot of chili.
“Oh, hey, sweetie. Cornbread is in the oven, honey is in the crock, and I also got tortilla chips because I know how much you like crumbling them in your chili.”
“Mom, why did you invite her? I told you to leave her alone, to leave usalone.”
“What are you talking about?” My mom looks me up and down and then goes back to the chili.
“Harper. I asked you not to invite Harper.”
The bathroom door opens, and Jen pops out, rubbing her hands together. “Did he come in yet?” Her eyes light up as she spots me. “What time was it?”
“Eight minutes. Reid won.”
Disappointed, she snaps her fingers. “Damn, I for sure thought I was going to win.”
Confused, I turn back to my mom. “Harper isn’t here?”
“No, of course not. I wouldn’t invite her so early. She needs time to settle. What made you think she was here?”
I whip around to find Reid leaning against the kitchen wall, arms crossed and with a giant grin on his face. I point at him. “You better run, because I’m going to fucking kill you.”
Like a bolt of lightning, he takes off, and I chase after him, nothing but pure murder on my mind.

Excerpt

The air burns my lungs, my morning run down. For months I’d been running, building up
endurance and trying to slim my thighs down. I’ve made it up to about three miles, which is
good considering when I started I could barely do one.

While my shape has improved, I still have a ways to go. The wedding is fast approaching and I
want to look perfect for Caleb. Monday I’m going to push myself and do four miles.

He has a meeting today with the engineer and he’s allowed me to be there. I’m excited to see
what they say and to get designing the space.

As soon as I get home my phone goes off with a text from Caleb.

Hey, babe, when are you bringing my coffee? – Caleb

Shit, my day is already a mess and it’s only eight in the morning.

Where are you? – Aubrey

Before I even get to shower I’m in my car and off again. The Starbucks is so close I’m still
sweating when I step in. While the run helps get me going, I need coffee. At least the delay
getting home will give it enough time to cool down.

I can drop it off before heading home.

Warmth spreads through me as I smile down at the screen and the little kisses. In just over six
months I will be Aubrey Manning. Someone different, and hopefully better than my former self.
I want to be better, for him.

There’s still so much to do, we’ve barely scratched the surface, and I’m thankful for my mom
and Nora are around to help. Thankfully we were able to secure the location. It isn’t my dream
venue, but Caleb was able to book it on our shorter timetable. Considering we got engaged at
Christmas, we were doing pretty good.

With Nora and my mom, we were heading wedding dress shopping in a week. Caleb insisted on
going against tradition to help me pick out the perfect dress.

“What can I get started for you?” the barista asks.

I manage to remember my order and pay before stepping to the side to wait with the others.

Speaking of Nora, I pull up my messenger and look at the pictures she sent me this morning
while I wait. She sent me three outfits last night and two this morning. Two have possibilities,
but the others are a no. I shoot her back the ones for our fashion show on Saturday before
making a few suggestions.

As I type a tingle spreads across my back. Almost like a wave of heat from a fire. I’ve felt it
before. Years ago.

The energy radiating from behind me flickers in the back of my brain, igniting memories from
long ago. Forgotten times buried under heartache. I can never forget it–forget him–but I refuse
to turn around to believe it.

Pike isn’t here.

He lives in New York, why would he come back to Indianapolis?

Not only that, how in the world would the two of us end up at the same place at the same time?

I draw in a ragged breath as heat surges through my body.

One man in my entire life made me feel this way. Only one.

My knees grow weak and I want to blame it on my run, but I know the truth. The mere thought
of Pike being close has sent every part of me into chaos. Ten years of silence is suddenly as loud
as a rock concert surging through me.

I don’t even have the courage to turn around, to see if it is him. Too scared that I’ll have to face
him after years apart. That I’ll have to admit that it’s him doing this complete system hijak.

I take a deep breath, that is shaky as hell, and peek over my shoulder. The hair of my ponytail
over my shoulder hides my face some, but one small glance and every fear is confirmed–Pike
Warren is home. Not only is Pike back in Indiana, he somehow wound up at the same Starbucks
as me at the same time, miles from where we grew up.

His lips are parted, blue eyes dark as he stares at me, catching me in my casual attempt to spy.
It almost looks like he is just as shocked as I am.

“Aubrey?”

Suddenly he seems to be growing taller, and it isn’t until I feel the shock of his hands on my
waist that I realize it’s my knees giving up the ghost. Warmth crawls through me from his touch,
taking over.

“Whoa, are you okay?” he asks as he pulls me up and to him.

Okay? Okay?

No, I am not okay. I was perfectly fine before he got in line behind me minutes ago. But after, my
life is suddenly in an upheaval of epic proportions.

Fuck you, Pike.

“Yeah, fine,” I say as I struggle to get my legs under me again. But my hands are on his chest and
he’s holding me close and everything is wrong but so right. Stronger, larger, angular and still
every bit the boy I loved. “Um…Hi.”

“Hi.”
