Synopsis:

Truth: Penn Walker entered my life like a summer storm—dark, ominous, and filled with thunder.

After witnessing my husband’s murder, I didn’t have much of a heart left to offer a man.

But Penn took it all.

Every jagged shard.

Every broken bit.

Even the dirty and twisted pieces that I wish never existed.

Lie: I didn’t need him to save me.

Lie: I knew exactly who he was.

Lie: Losing him wouldn’t destroy me.

But that’s the thing about lies—you never know who to believe.

AUTHOR INFORMATION:

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her four young children. Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person. She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.

This is the concluding part of Cora’s story so you do need to read The Truth About Lies first.

This book picks up where The Truth About Lies ended and Cora is left to pick up the pieces. Confused, heartbroken and hurting, Cora is doing her best to move forward while making sure she does what she can to help the people she cares about. Cora is a brilliant character. She’s strong, resilient and a genuinely good person. Her character is very easy to connect with and her emotions come across perfectly. I found her extremely easy to like and I was definitely rooting for her to get her HEA.

Left with plenty of unanswered questions Cora finds herself turning to Drew to help her find the answers she desperately needs. Drew is a constant presence for Cora and even though he has his own agenda, I loved that he stuck around. Cora knows there’s more to their situation than she previously thought and she’s left questioning everything trying to sort the truths from the lies.

This is a really good conclusion to Cora and Penns story. It’s got plenty of action, twists, chemistry and suspense. Questions finally get answered in this book and all I can say is Cora is a more forgiving person than I am. This is a great duet that I thoroughly enjoyed and I can’t wait for more from this author.
