A.C.H.E.

A is for Ache
C is for Choice.
H is for His.
E is for Everly.

I've always gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to my personal life. Drug-addicted mother, obsessive stepfather, shitty upbringing, and one soul-shattering, heart-wrenching relationship.

But everything changed when I met Alec Prescott. I couldn’t stand the cocky, hotshot lawyer at first, but after assisting him on one case, my opinion changed drastically. He became the beginning I so desperately needed, even if romantic relationships at work are completely forbidden.

Unfortunately, falling in love with a coworker is the least of my problems. Funny thing about the past, it’s never truly far away. No matter how fast you run from it, or how hard you try to suppress it, it’s there, lingering like a fog, blinding your vision, impacting your decisions, affecting your life.

That’s where Tage Andrews comes in. He’s the heartache I can never outrun. The man who saved me from my past while pillaging my emotions. I want to avoid reliving it—avoid him—but he’s always there, lingering like a fog, blinding my vision, impacting my decisions, affecting my life.

This is my paradoxical predicament.
Two men.
One choice.
Inevitable heartbreak.

Everly hasn’t had the best life. With a mum who is an addict and a step dad who locks her away in her room, she really doesn’t have anyone on her side. While locked away she meets Tage, an employee of her step dad. Forming a close bond, Tage does his best to keep her safe, even when he has to break her heart in the process.
After having her heart broken at a young age, Everly is reluctant/unable to move on but on a night out she unexpectedly catches the eye of her co worker Alec. Even though she’s sworn off relationships there’s an undeniable chemistry between the two of them and she finally decides she needs to move on and give their relationship a go. I really liked Alec from the start. He’s rude, obnoxious and a workaholic but somehow the cocky, arrogant, straight to the point lawyer won me over. Unknown to Everly, Tage has spent the last eight years checking up on her and when he sees she has a new man, he knows he has to make a move now or risk losing her forever. I wasn’t a fan of Tage. I don’t know why but I really didn’t like him. Right up until the very end. And then he did something that, to me, showed exactly the kind of person he really is and I found myself really, really liking him.

I really enjoyed A. C. H. E. I’m a massive fan of M Never and this book has everything I’ve come to expect from her work.
