BLURB

As a kid, Logan Preston was a brat.
Through his teens, he became the bad boy.
Now, at nineteen, no one knows what the hell to expect.

High school dropout, Logan Preston is a
good-for-nothing stoner.
A black sheep.
A disappointment.
The worst Preston Punk of the lot.
At least that’s how everyone in his small town
makes him feel.
But Logan Preston has secrets.
Secrets so dark and so deep below the surface that the only way he can fight them is to stay high, high, high.
He wears cockiness as a mask.
Arrogance as his armor.
Until one girl, one night, asks one life-changing question:
What's beneath the bravado, Logan Preston?

This is going to be a pretty vague and spoiler free review.

Logan Preston is.....troubled. He's complex. Complicated. Confused. The black sheep of his family that seems intent on self destructing. He's hiding his secrets and trying to forget any way he can. He's frustrating. He got me so annoyed, I had to take a breather from this book more than once. But I also fell head over heels with him. He can be unbelievably sweet and funny. He's got his problems and I loved how they were written. They show a different side to him, the more selfish Logan that's desperate to bury everything. It's hard to sympathise with him at times but the pain he's going through makes it easier to understand where his head is at.

Aubrey is sassy and sweet. She knows Logan is going to break her but she still ends up jumping in with both feet. I straight up adored Aubrey. She dirty talks like no other and for that alone I'll love her quirky ass forever. She had me in tears with some of the things she says. She's got her own past and problems but she deals with them in a different way to Logan and has a maturity about her in the way she carries herself.

Jay McLean has this ability to lure me into a false sense of security with her books right before she pulls the rug from under me and leaves me reeling and Logan's story was no different. This book took its toll on me. I'm emotionally exhausted. The characters are so very easy to relate to, there's a depth to their characters that helps bring them to life and makes them very likeable. The rest of the Preston gang all feature heavily in Logan's story and it was great seeing them all interact. Younger sibling Lachan is definitely one of my favourite Preston boys. If he doesn't make your heart melt, nothing will. He's adorable.

I thoroughly enjoyed Logan's story, I loved every high and low and I can't wait for more from the Preston Brothers!
