She was my foster sister, her luxurious house the only home I’d ever known. I fell in love with Evie before her doctor parents signed my adoption papers. They threw me out the day they caught us. Now I’m Dr. Jones, so far removed from who I used to be, it seems like a bad dream. I tell myself nothing can touch me. Until I see the residency roster at Rockies University Hospital. There’s only two incoming neurosurgery residents each year. This year it’s Landon Jones—and Evie Rutherford.

★★★★★ Five Stars Evie and Landon meet on his first day at his new school. The interest is instantaneous for Evie. There's something about the broody teen that calls to her and she's determined to make a friend out of him. Imagine her surprise when she finds out that Landon is her new foster brother and that he's going to be living with her family. Evie is a sweetheart. She is so genuine that I couldn't help but like her. Smart, caring, intelligent and funny, she's a very likeable character.

Landon hasn't had the best start to life. Going through the foster care system has shaped him into the person he is today. He's troubled, can't quite believe his luck with his new family and is praying that this is it for him. Trying to fight his attraction to Evie leaves him feeling conflicted and determined to keep her at arms length, even though he doesn't want to. Landon won me over fairly quickly. Even though he's dealing with his issues, he's this unbelievably sweet, funny, sarcastic, genuine guy that I absolutely adored.

What starts off as a young love kinda story changes when events happen that throw the young lovers off course and away from each other. Finding themselves working together years later, their feelings haven't changed, but as individuals they've changed and matured. They've made choices and decisions that have affected their lives and kept secrets that need to be shared. They became even more lovable and real for me.

Evie and Landons story is an emotional ride. It sucked me in and I didn't put it down once. The bond between Evie and Landon is everything. The connection they share even after years apart made me swoon. This is a really good, enjoyable romance that I'm going to recommending to everyone.
