Blurb

Amplified emotional highs have been my downfall. I’ve lost parts of myself to the dark corners of my heart because of the damage others have inflicted.

Whiskey might be able to ease the burn of one’s soul, but this time it might not be enough to survive. Instead of letting me wither in the cracks of my desiccated soul, he pushes me to appreciate the scars, instead of avoiding the bruises.

I’ve had more than my share of sanctioned hell, and I am through living in a limbo between who I should be and who I am. I won’t allow myself to become a casualty of my own mind again.

I am no longer carrying the obscurities of my life around with me when he chooses to stand and fight beside me.

With him, I finally see what it means to be living.

**This novel contains mature themes, strong language, violent circumstances, and sexual situations. It is intended for adult readers.

★★★★ Four Stars

Isla has been best friends with Wade and Liam for years. She has some serious trust issues but they've both proven time and time again they have her back. She has a special bond with Liam though and that can bring extra complications. After knowing each other for years, and been friends with benefits in the past, neither wants more from their situation. Things change when Liam moves to the US and he and Isla grow closer, blurring the lines they'd put in place.
With Liam constantly sending mixed signals, Isla knows she has to distance herself before she ends up getting destroyed by Liam. I loved Isla. She's no doormat. She has a backbone and a voice and she's not afraid to use them. Liam has his own troubled past. He's spent years looking for his lost love and it's all had a massive and very profound effect on Liam. I really liked Liam. His character evolves and grows so much throughout the book that I couldn't help but love him.

With two troubled, confused, complex characters trying to find their way, to finally get closure and hopefully move on, they've got their work cut out trying to move past it all. Then there's Wade. With his protective instincts coming out in full force towards Isla, will his and Wades friendship survive? You'll have to read and see!!
