Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f*ck.

He’s worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he’s always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he’s torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the life he loves.

Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet is strung out and tired.

Tired of living for her next fix. Tired of doing things that make her stomach turn. Tired of looking in the mirror at the reflection of the person she’s become. Just when she decides to end it all, she meets a man who will change the course of both their lives forever.

And their deaths.

For most people, death is the end of their story.
For Preppy and Dre, death was only the beginning.

This is the fifth book in the King Series and it's meant to be read after Soulless.

☆☆☆☆ Five Stars

Preppy is back!!! And he finally gets his own book. I was so super excited to get his story, to find out what really makes him tick and, like everyone else, I needed to know what the hell was going on!!

We all know and love Preppy. He's the pancake loving, bow tie wearing, funny, loyal, slightly twisted (full on psychopath sounds a bit harsh) friend of King. We love him for his loyalty, his sense of humour and for just been him....and this book did what I thought was the impossible, and made me love him even more. He is without a doubt my favourite character in this series.

Andrea (Dre) has hit rock bottom. Strung out and ready for it all to end, unlikely saviour Preppy interrupts her plans. I really liked Dre. Under the desperation and addiction is a nice girl with a good heart. I loved how her addiction was told. Her desperation and disgust for herself come across really well and I felt so sorry for her.

Preppy is.....well he's Preppy. We start to find out more about his childhood which shows a vulnerability about him that made my heart break. He's a brilliantly complex character. He seems to be so many things. Funny but serious. Calm but deadly. He's an onion!!!! Layer upon layer of perfect messed-upiness.

This is part one of Preppys story and I for one am glad there's going to be more books. He deserves his story to be told and not rushed and after reading this instalment, I'm already dying for more. I need to know what happens!!! Now!!! As usual with TM Fraziers books, this one has the usual hotness and humour, twists that left me completely speechless (which never happens) and characters that you're going to love (and some you'll hate). If you've read the other books in this series then this is an absolute must read!!!
