I started this expecting it to be just a teacher/student romance but this book is much more than just that. 
Remington is nearly 18 but older than her years, living at home with her step brother Ryan while her dad works away. Remington was surprisingly easy to like. She's been dealt a crappy hand in life but her attitude and determination to better herself are what gets her through it. She gets the chance to move to a private school for her final year and this is where she meets Mr James. 

Pierce James is Remi's new debate teacher and the chemistry sparks between them from the start. Pierce has more than enough reasons to stay away from Remi and he does try but Remi doesn't make it easy for him. 

Then there's Remi's step brother Ryan, who left me feeling really conflicted. He was definitely one of my favourite characters. The part he plays in this book made this book more than just a student/teacher romance (for me). 
This book is hot!!! So very, very hot!! And it's full of secrets! There's angst, depth to the characters that makes it so easy to like them and a story that had me engrossed. If you like taboo(ish) romances, I'd definitely recommend this.

I'm staying away from the story completely. All I'll say is this book carries on from the previous book and you do need to read them first. This series is like meeting back up with old friends. After going through so much with them in the previous books, I'm unbelievably invested in these characters and their lives. Like many people, I fell for Preppy in the first King books. I always say he's like an onion because he has so many layers to him and his personality. You never know what he's going to do or how he's going to react. He's the pancake loving, bow tie wearing, funny, loyal Preppy he's always been but now we get a slightly more settled, mature Preppy. My favourite onion has grown up but he still manages to keep that randomness that I've come to know and love about him. His protectiveness and loyalty are as strong as ever and he's determined to keep his family safe. Dre has come so far since the start of this series. She's mature, strong, independent, definitely one of my favourite characters and a perfect match for Preppy. This book has plenty of action and drama, it's one of those books that you read in one sitting because you can't put it down. Of course King and Bear feature in this book and getting more insight into their relationship with Preppy was the icing on the cake for me. As much as I've loved the romance in this series, for me the friendship between these three men is what made it stand out from all the other series out there. This is a bit of a bittersweet read. Knowing the series is ending made me want to sit in a corner and sob but TM Frazier manages to leave you feeling like King, Bear and Preppy (and their women) will be ok because they'll always have each others backs and I'm actually ok with saying goodbye to them. A truly brilliant series with characters I won't ever forget. Every time I see/hear pancakes or bow ties I'll think of this series and it's characters, as most of us will do, and they will always hold a special place in my heart.
