I had no idea when I started Broken Record that it was part of a series. It’s been a long time since I’ve read a book by this author and I was super excited to start.

First, I’d recommend you read the other books in this series before starting this. It can be read as a stand-alone but I felt like I was missing out on not knowing the characters as well as I could’ve if I’d read the other books first.

Savannah and Lucas have been friends for years but the timing has never been right for them to make something work between them. Now Savannah is settling down, she’s got her dream job, she’s moving to DC with her boyfriend Easton, she seems happy enough. Until Lucas gets drafted to DC too and suddenly Savannah finds herself with some tough decisions to make.

I adored Lucas. He gets Savannah in a way no one else does and even though Savannah frustrated me at times, I liked her too. The chemistry between them sizzled and I couldn’t get enough of the two of them together.

This is a good, angsty read and it’s definitely made me want to go back and catch up with the rest of the series and characters.
